Geordi LaForge is the Chief of Engineering for the Enterprise-E, and is played by Levar Burton. His quarters are on Deck 2, #2471.
Born blind, he wears a VISOR that enables him to detect his surroundings in detail, and gives him information normal people don't have. He turned down the chance to see twice before, but recieved Ocular Implants in 2371. He gets along with everyone very well, but has trouble forming romantic relationships with any real people, but has had a couple of "experiences" in the Holodeck. Geordi has formed friendships, however, with both Wesley and Data. Geordi's mother was a Starship Captain who disappeared on stardate 47215, and he has several siblings.
He was promoted to Chief Engineer between the first and second seasons aboard the Enterprise-D, and Died once with Ensign Ro on stardate 45892, but was phased to a Romulan Cloaking Device, and was later rescued successfully.
