Jean-Luc Picard is the captain of the Enterprise-E and is played by Patrick Stewart. His serial number is SP 937 215. His quarters are on Deck 9, #3601.
He was born to Yvette and Maurice Gessard Picard on July 13, 2305 in Paris, France and he has one brother, Robert. He applied to the Academy in the year 2322, but was rejected. He re-applied the following year, however, and was accepted, which he attended for four years. Prior to being captain of the Starfleet Flagship, the Enterprise-E, Picard served 22 years on the Stargazer and nine years later as captain of the Enterprise-D. The Enterprise-D was destroyed in 2371, and approximately one year later Picard became captain of the Enterprise-E. He is approximately 60 years old.
His hobbies include history and archeology. He also likes to practice on the Rescian flute. He likes to read detective fiction, is a huge Shakespeare Fan, particularly Dixon Hill novels, and has taken art classes. He likes caviar and Earl Gray tea. He also also enjoys Horseback riding, fencing, and he won a marathon when at the academy. He is good friends with Dr. Crusher, with whom he has breakfast every morning; and he is friends with Guinan, to whom he can reveal the indecision and pain he is unable to convey to his crew as captain. He has an artifical heart from when he was stabbed by Nausciaans while at the Academy.
